Howdy, I'm Lauren Nichols

Howdy! My name is Lauren Nichols and I am currently a Senior graduating in May of 2022! I am from Lake Jackson which is an hour south of House and where the first Buc-ee's is!

As a first generation Aggie I was super excited to come to A&M and study in their engineering program. At first, I was not sure at all what engineering I wanted to do. I remember going to a DI Saturday and going to the Industrial and Systems Engineering event and instantly knew this was the engineering I wanted to do. I loved how broad it was and seeing how many doors it could open for me. My sophomore year of college I knew I wanted to create more girl friends and decided to rush. It was a long process but worth it in the end! I ended up going Delta Zeta and met some of my lifelong friends because of it. My junior year I was able to obtain my Six Sigma Green Belt certification through IISE. This truly did make me stand out during interviews and career fairs so I am glad I got it. I was also a part of IISE all throughout college.

After graduation I am moving to Frisco, Texas to be a Project Engineer at Cole and Associates! I will be assisting with the production of construction plans for various projects, which include residential, commercial, and municipal infrastructure design. I will also be able to perform site visits and verify field conditions and monitor the construction. I am super excited for this next adventure! I hope to come back to visit A&M during the football games. I truly had some of the best times here on this campus and I am going to miss it so much.
