Howdy, I'm Jainita Chauhan

Howdy! My name is Jainita Chauhan and I am currently a senior ISEN major at TAMU, graduating in May, 2022! I am the current president of APM, and my previous industry experience is in Operations, Supply Chain, and Semiconductors. I am passionate about using my academic, industry, and extracurricular experiences towards making an impact through Industrial and Systems Engineering work.

I have previously held five full-time summer internships and one part-time co-op in industry. For three summers (2017, 2018, and 2019) I interned at a thermoelectric manufacturing company named II-VI Marlow where I was a component engineering intern and completed work related to testing, analysis, distribution fitting, 3D modeling, and file database synthesis. Most recently, I interned at Raytheon Intelligence and Space for two summers (2020, 2021) and also in a co-op during the Spring 2021 semester where I was an Operations and Supply Chain intern.

Throughout my undergrad at Texas A&M, I have discovered my passions for travel and cross-cultural competency. I have enjoyed partaking in multiple international excursions such as a faculty-led study abroad to Peru (Augustmester 2019), the Global Grand Challenges Summit international conference in London (September 2019), and a Global Engineering Brigade to Honduras (December, 2019). I am also currently pursuing the International Engineering Certification through Halliburton Global Programs Office.

Within the Industrial and Systems Engineering department at TAMU I have held numerous roles. During Spring 2020 I served as grader for the ISEN210 Industrial Engineering Design course; in Fall 2020 I served as grader for the ISEN281 Materials and Manufacturing Methods course, alongside this position I also began as an undergraduate teaching assistant for the ISEN460 Industrial Engineering Capstone Design course which I have remained active in this role. I have also been conducting academic research within the department's Applied Cognitive and Ergonomics Lab and recently my paper was accepted for publication at the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting. My research has been focused on the Resilient Actions of Incident Management Teams during the COVID-19 pandemic.
