Howdy, I'm Jorge Rodriguez

Howdy! My name is Jorge Rodriguez and I have had the privilege to serve as the president for Alpha Pi Mu for the past two semesters. Coming from a family full of industrial engineers, I always knew my path was going to include industrial engineering. This May, I will be graduating with an industrial engineering degree and begin a masters in finance here at Texas A&M.

Throughout my college career, I have had the opportunity to have several different experiences that have better prepared me for the real world. Initially, I had a manufacturing internship in Magdeburg, Germany back in 2019. I spent my summer working for MIAM as a general engineering intern with a focus on manufacturing.  My second internship came the following summer, where I worked as industrial engineering intern for Bell Flight in Forth Worth, Texas and focused on military export orders. Following my internship, I accepted an offer to be a Textron Student ambassador for the next two semesters. Lastly, I will be returning as a manufacturing engineer intern at Bell Flight for this upcoming summer.

I have been a member of Alpha Pi Mu since January of 2019. Throughout my first semester as a member, I was able to clearly see how beneficial it was to be a part of this organization. The following semester, I had the opportunity to serve as the treasurer and get more involved. For my third semester as part of Alpha Pi Mu, I became the vice president and since August of 2020, I have held the position of President.

 

Joining this organization has truly changed me in both an educational and a professional aspect. Alpha Pi Mu offers several professional and faculty events/seminars which provide key experiences that you cannot gain in regular classes. In my opinion, the biggest benefit of joining Alpha Pi Mu are the connections you gain, especially with other students. It allows you to connect with other like-minded students who truly care about Industrial Engineering. Since I have joined this organization, we have grown each semester. I believe the organization will keep improving and providing the most to each and every member.
