Howdy, I'm Melissa Lopez

Howdy! My name is Melissa Lopez of the class of '22, and I am pursuing a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Project Management at Texas A&M.

This semester I am excited to be working as Alpha Pi Mu's Director of External Affairs. I am also completing my second semester as Chapter President for Rho Delta Chi Sorority. While at Texas A&M I have had the pleasure of studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain for a wintermester, working as a TA for PHYS/ENGR 217, and working as a service committee team leader for Sophomores Advancing in Leadership. While in Barcelona I went on many tours related to Industrial Engineering, and they gave me great insight into systems processing. I toured the Condis Distribution center, a warehouse that sorted and distributed grocery goods all over Barcelona, and the Llopart winery and the Estrella Damm brewery to see the behind the scenes of each creation process. The ISEN 302 Engineering Economics course that I took in Spain taught me a great deal about the principles of economics in business. It is certainly my most valued experience as an Aggie, and it inspired me to seek out a career abroad.
